Welcome to the 2018 Iron Paws Stage Race

Iron Paws Stage Race is a virtual dogsledding race that lasts 9 weeks. Competitors from throughout North America compete against each other in classes based on the number of dogs and type of rig run. All levels and abilities, and all mushing classes and team sizes are welcome.

Iron Paws begins January 1st each year. During each one week stage, mushers earn points in a variety of ways, including mileage run, participation in group events, sanctioned races, fun challenges, and sharing photos of their teams to our Facebook page. Points are accumulated through participation, so all levels and abilities can be competitive. Points are earned through both snow and dryland training.

Our mission is first and foremost to encourage mushers to get on the trail and have fun with their dogs. We also strive to build community and fellowship amongst the North American recreational mushers. Iron Paws is a welcoming community with many experienced mushers that are willing to answer questions and help a newbie get started. Join in the fun and get ready for a busy winter.
